Happy New Year!

Today while I made breakfast with my family and friends after an evening of merrymaking, one of my buddies said, “You know, I feel really good about this year.” I have to say, I feel the same. I have an optimism about this year that I just can’t explain. I think it is going to be a year in which I begin to achieve that balance I am always looking for. I am going to work to bring my family to my highest priority and not give them my “leftover” time. I am going to work to grow my business purposefully so that it exists in the way I plan it to be and not the way it just sort of happens. Heck, I may even take off those extra “baby weight” pounds this year! (We’ll see . . . my “baby” is four years old!) I just have a great feeling about this year blank, brimming-with-possibility year and I hope you feel similar hopefulness!

I am also so excited to be launching this new blog. I hope that it helps mother-photographers build profitable businesses and strong families at the same time. I am hoping that it will help me grow as a photographer, business owner, and mother and that it inspires others to as well. Please feel free to contact me with questions, comments or ideas – I’d love to hear them!

Of course, since this is a blog for photographers, we’ll end every post with at least one image! Here is a favorite of my son – I thought his joyful expression matched my optimistic mood. Happy New Year everyone!
