Question? Meet Answer. {Phone Consultations}

Photogra-mommas, do you have a question or two (or twenty)? MWC is here to help! Emily is proud to offer private one-on-one mentoring via phone consultations that are uniquely tailored to meet your needs. Emily remembers starting her business and wishing she had someone to hold her hand and help her make decisions about equipment, learn lighting patterns, put together pricing and product offerings and fine-tune sales techniques. In Emily’s mentoring sessions you may ask anything you like . . . no question is off-limits. Emily will help you tackle those things you feel are holding you back so you can advance to the next level in your career. We are so excited to be able to offer coaching so  you can grow a successful studio . . . without ever leaving your home! (We know this is important to many of our mommas!) Emily believes anyone can be successful in this business with the right knowledge and tools. She is living proof with very high sales averages stemming from her modest home-based studio in a small town. Nickie Anderson - Hi. I am new to this site and wondered if you answer e-mail questions? If so, I have a Nikon D40 and it has been my dream to shoot professionally and here I am seeing several aquaintencances start a photography business and I am really wanting to make it happenfor me but sort of cueless:/ My first ? is I think I take great ics but feel like the clarity is not up to par as it should be. The D40 has under 10 megapixels and I am wondering if I need to buy a whole new camera..D5100 has over 16 mp’s or someone said just get a 50mm lens…do you have any advice? Thanks, Nickie Anderson

If you do not answer e-mails, that is ok, I will continue to check out your site, it is awesome!

Emily - Hi Nickie! I am always happy to answer a quick question here or there. For more in-depth information, I do phone consultations (you can see them at the top of the blog, where it says “Question, Meet Answer” and we have had many readers who love to take advantage of those! That would be a great source for you to get your questions answered. For clarity, the #1 factor impacting this is your focus, followed very closely by exposure. Are you nailing both? If no, work on that and see if you notice an improvement. Megapixels are nice, but they won’t make an image sharper or clearer unless you’re talking about enlargements. Best wishes!
